The National Integrated Early Childhood Development (NIECD)
The National Integrated Early Childhood Development (NIECD) Secretariat was established in September, 2016 under the Youth and Children Affairs Department at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
The Secretariat is charged with day-to-day functions of coordination, management, administration and reporting on programmes and activities intended to ensure smooth implementation of the NIECD Policy.
With offices on 5th and 7th floor of Simbamanyo House, the Secretariat is headed by a National Coordinator and a deputy.
There are six programme officers handling different sectors as well as an administrative officer, IT/data officer, secretary, office attendant and a driver.
