About DigiChild

DIGICHILD Initiative, an innovative project under Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development. The initiative is a GIS-based child labour risk estimation index in agrifood systems. It combines key variables that represent risk indicators of child labour in agriculture. The index maps agriculture and crop-growing communities subject to child labour risk in Uganda, combining their exposure to selected, standardized and weighted child labour risk indicators (e.g. poverty, food insecurity, school distance, climate vulnerability and others). The index includes crop masking, mapping child labor risk estimation in specific crop-growing areas and agricultural sub-sectors (coffee, livestock and others).
